In a recent research there has been speculation that pollution can make children obese. We all know that pollution affects the respiratory part of the human body, although in a research in Spain tells us it also affects the womb of a woman.
How its possible they cannot say but the interesting thing is the contamination in the womb is something that comes from the treatment of seeds. Anyways to know more read the article to believe it, the source.

Asthma patients ask for compensation
In a case filed by asthmatic patients for air pollution in Tokyo are asking for compensation for their health problems caused by exhaust fumes by governments and car makers. The government gave proposals to these carmakers for antipollution methods and for medical fee assistance of 6 billion yen. The metropolitan government is planning to fight for air pollution in the coming weeks.
The seven carmakers and the government have come to an agreement to pay for the compensation to these patients however the amount is still not decided. The patients have said that if there are complications with the carmakers then they will deal with the metropolitan governments. The government plans to reduce air pollution but creating more intersections such that traffic flow is smooth. They will also plant trees to reduce the smog. They will allow asthma patients to borrow with free inhalers and receive medical check-ups to prevent symptoms. The seven carmakers said that they would pay something like 400-500 million yen but the patients requested 3 billion yen.

Car Exhausts ceases lung growth
A US research claims thats houses near, beside a busy main road or motorway could cease lung growth in children. The research consisted of 3677 children aged between 10-18 years, which is the normal time for the lungs to completely develop. The researchers indicated that pollution can stop the lung from growing completely even for those who are healthy.
Children living close to major roads/streets in cities with high levels of air pollution are prone to greater risks of lung problems. Scientists have no idea what air pollution has to do with lung growth but believe that lung inflammation of daily air pollutants may be the cause of it.
Ps. My exams got over today so i am free. I should now be able to post.

Increase in fatal heart attack due to pollution
A Swedish scientist indicated that living in a air polluted hotspot could increase fatal heart attack by 40% and 23% of heart attack. Although no one yet know the prolonged effect of air pollution to the human body but it could be castrophic. The effects to short term is well understood. At least that is good. Normally pollution causes chronic inflammation, not only that is also speeds up the process of hardening the arteries.

13 millions lives can be saved
About 13 millions lives can be saved each year from enviornmental diseases and about 4 million children can also be saved. The four main diseases are diarrhoea, lower respiratory infections, unintentional injuries and malaria. The enviornment plays a major part of the human health and certain precautions must be taken. One such precaution is being hygenic. Just this 1 precaution can save a lot of lives. For major populations hygene is just one factor. Safer fuels must be used, better toxic disposal techniques must be created to ensure it does not affect our health and the lives of animals and nature.

Air pollution affecting Hong Kong
A recent study indicates that air pollution is affecting the people of Hong Kong. It has become a major threat for the country as it is not only affecting the health of the people but of course the economy of Hong Kong. Air pollution contributes to 6.8m family doctor visits, 64,000 hospital bed-days and economic losses of $2.6bn every year. It may be a beautiful paradise for most people however due to pollution it could all be blighted in a few days which might have taken years to become what it is now.

India's atmosphere polluted
Indians are breathing cancer-causing air according to recent reports. The air contains chemicals and toxic gases which at the present level is extremely dangerous. India is one of most polluted countries in the world. The country does not have any standard for the control of harmful chemicals and gases released in the atmosphere.
The study which was done in many India cities and villages indicate that the people are exposed to 45 dangerous chemicals including 13 carcinogens some levels which are 32,000 times higher than world standards. The chemicals found in the air virtually attacks most of the body system including eyes, nervous system, reproductive system. Although to reduce pollution the Indian government is planning a shift to compressed natural gas which could reduce pollution. However the government has no plans to cut down greenhouse gases which according to the Kyoto Protocol. Luckily considering them to be a developing nation there are exempted from the Protocol.

China's Yangtze is in peril
One of the biggest river in the world and the largest in China, the Yangtze river is in serious peril. The river was told is was too big for pollution to occur due to its sheer capacity of 900 billions of water. However the incident which took few months back ago have showed signs of pollution. It was said the river was too big to poison although that assumption was wrong. Hydrologists are saying that the water is cancerous and could cause a major imbalance in marine life and enviornment. The 3,964 mile long river supports some 400 million people which means one in every 15 people in the planet.
